Basic Setups

Every guitar will need a setup from time to time no matter what quality craftsmanship, or how much you paid for it. Some need help more often than others depending on how it’s played and the conditions in which it’s kept. Here in New England, our sometimes drastic changes in temperature and relative humidity can wreak havoc on stringed instruments. But with regular inspections and adjustments we can play worry free for years to come. If you’ve just purchased a guitar, now is a great time to “make it yours” with an inspection and proper adjustments, upgrades, etc.

Choosing to get a Basic Setup with Hazard Sound starts with a full inspection, gathering of measurements, and a conversation with the owner about their playing style and personal preferences. From there, adjustments are made to the truss rod, string height, intonation, tuners & hardware, tremolo balance, and pickup height to bring your guitar back to an enjoyable playing condition. The neck and body get a quick cleaning and the fretboard is conditioned (if necessary). Each guitar receives the high level of treatment expected by professional musicians.
